05 · Outdoor Living
What outdoor living includes.
Built like the house, not like patio furniture — permitted, inspected and guaranteed for a year like everything else we do.
- Composite and hardwood decks with hidden fasteners
- Covered porches, pergolas and shade structures
- Outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and built-in seating
- Lighting, outlets, railings and stairs to code
On the job
Built for weather, finished like furniture.
Proper footings below frost line, flashed ledger boards, stainless hardware near the grill.

Project types
Three ways to go outside.
Decks & Patios
Ground-level patios to second-story decks, in composite or hardwood, with railings and lighting planned from day one. Typically 2–4 weeks.
Covered Porches
A roof changes everything: dry furniture, ceiling fans, recessed lights and three-season use. Tied into your existing roofline to match.
Cook & Gather
Outdoor kitchens, pizza ovens, fireplaces and bars with gas, water and power run properly — permitted and inspected, not improvised.
Outdoor FAQs
Good questions.
Composite or real wood?
Composite for low maintenance, hardwood for feel underfoot. We'll show you samples of both, price both, and tell you honestly which suits your sun exposure and budget.
Do decks need permits?
Almost always — footings, ledger attachment and railings are all inspected here. We file and attend, and the permit cost is a line item in your estimate, never a surprise.
When should we build?
Book in winter, build in spring: our schedule fills by March. A winter consultation means your deck is ready for the first warm weekend.
